Udyam registration replaced the old Udyog Aadhaar system in July 2020. It is free, entirely online, and takes about fifteen minutes if your PAN and GSTIN are linked to your Aadhaar. The delayed payment protection is underrated
Section 15 of the MSMED Act obliges a buyer to pay a registered micro or small enterprise within 45 days of accepting goods or services. Beyond that, compound interest at three times the RBI bank rate accrues automatically โ and the buyer cannot claim that interest as a tax-deductible expense. Registered suppliers can escalate to the MSME Samadhaan portal, which is faster and cheaper than civil litigation.

- Enter your Aadhaar number and validate via OTP
- Enter PAN details โ the portal auto-fetches turnover and investment data
- Fill in enterprise details, bank account, and NIC activity codes
- Submit and receive the Udyam Registration Number and e-certificate
